My Story:
On Valentine’s Day 2008, I received a life changing call…. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was living in NYC at the time pursuing my hair & makeup career. I was devastated by her diagnosis because I was so scared to lose her and was unsure what the future would hold.
My mom, Sylvia, set out on a self-initiated mission to heal herself thru nutrition and lifestyle changes. She began her journey of healing by reading hundreds of books with so many conflicting opinions. She drastically changed her diet and lifestyle behaviors and tried to create her own course to remission. Although, her faith was strong and she was stubborn, God had other plans. My mother’s cancer ultimately took her from us way too early. Her strength, endurance and resolution have inspired and changed my life.
Since her passing, I have become impassioned to help other women with breast cancer by becoming a holistic health coach, specializing in Nutrition & Cancer. During her journey, my mother would mention how difficult & time-consuming it was to do all this research. This statement always resonated with me and has encouraged me help others. Everyone has the right to feel empowered and not alone. Becoming a health coach and Cancer Nutrition Specialist enables me to give the gift of nutrition, education and friendship to those looking to reduce their cancer risk and those needing a helping hand before, during and after treatment.
